Lethargic Tiger
I shelled out my $69 + tax for my own dang copy of Apple's new Tiger OS, and it's not so much a cat as it is a dog -- at least on a dual G4 1Ghz PowerMac. I know, I know, get a fast machine, you say, but hey we can't all be rich. Some need to stay behind and drool over the new technology that they'll get handed down in a few years, right? So here I am waiting for Spotlight to whip through the images, but there's no whipping. I suppose it's RAM related, I've only got 768MB.
I have to say, that I'm not overwhelmed. I like the new Mail layout, although Mail Appetizer no longer works. Dashboard is promising (I like the phonebook), but not really necessary. And Spotlight is just slooooooooooowwww (yes, it's already indexed). I anticipate growing to love it, but for now, my impression is that it's not much of an upgrade over Panther.
