processing, to-dos, and dones

There's so much to do in the next few weeks.
  • I need to stop and process all the stuff I took down as notes from AERA (This is what I meant to do tonight, but instead I'm making lists
  • I need to finish my embodiment readings (okay, that's totally unrealistic, considering I have about 4 more books I bought that I haven't even cracked).
  • I need to finish Tombraider 2 and interview a "gamer" for my video games class (very doable, as I'm now on the last level of TR2 -- although it's getting harder and harder as the weather gets better. This confirms to me that I am *not* a hard core gamer, and can't understand the mentality of those who would prefer games to, say, a canoe ride. As a disclaimer though, I have only really played TR2 and KoL, and neither are apparently even close to the level of "Doom" or "Half Life 2" or "Katamari Damacy" -- which *is* pretty cool. So maybe I'd understand if I played a better game.)
  • I need to figure out, get IRB/human subjects approval for, and create an AR PPC/GPS game for FML so I can make it my research, and collect data this summer (doability factor on this is iffy. If I can get IRB, the rest will fall into place.)
  • I need to then write up a paper proposal to present the research next year at AERA. (piece of cake)
  • I need to do laundry (although, really, there aren't a lot of clothes in the basket that I need until it gets cold ... hmm...)
  • I need to clean my room.
  • Which brings me to the things I already have done (and am quite proud of, thank you very much).
  • Taxes. Not just Federal, but State too. And not just this year's, but last year's too -- for Maine and Wisconsin. Good thing too, 'cause I'm getting money back.
  • Sublet for the Summer. this always bothers me, because I fret and fawn about it until the last minute, and this year it all happened early in April. Very Cool.
  • Groceries. I think I'm good until June. I think that, but I know that I'll need to get some basic-type items like greens, and cheese, etc. between now and June. And possibly beer...
  • Iced coffee. I bought a pound of ground Fair Trade coffee this afternoon, and plan to brew up a pot tonight, stick it in the fridge, and add ice when I want iced coffee. The price for a cup here at Mother Fools is $1.75 -- same for Ground Zero. one cup and I'm set for the day. This morning's ($1.75) ice cubes are still rattling in my Nissan travel mug. I'll save millions.
  • Now I have to go get food.

Hi. I'm a doc student in school psych who just stumbled across your blog. I wasn't at AERA, but I am down with all of your jargon. If you want to interview my videogame-loving husband for your project, he's all yours!
